The Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin recently launched a special internship program for young talent from Macao to learn more about Hengqin. At present, 37 Macao college students have arrived for their jobs.
The internship program, co-organized by authorities of both Hengqin and Macao, is mainly for college students in Macao, aged 18-45 (including bachelor or above degrees) and Macao youths with working experience in related business. 130 internship positions have been offered in the first phase, attracting 544 Macao youths to sign up.
The interns will work in nine units in the Executive Committee of the Cooperation Zone, covering areas in policy planning, legislation studies, and investment promotion,allowing Macao youths to better understand the strategic positioning, development planning, policies and measures there.
Another summer internship program was launched at the same time. Enterprises in modern finance, AI, IT and other industries in Zhuhai, especially in Hengqin, provide summer internship positions for Macao university students.17 interns who met the requirements of COVID-19 prevention and control, came to work on July 18.
According to the Hengqin authority, Macao Youth Internship Program plans to launch 7-8 activities from July to December this year. In future, positionsin commerce and trade, culture and tourism, and convention and exhibitions will be introduced to Macao youths, so as to provide them with a broader platform to grow their skills and abilities. The move aims to cultivate more high-quality talent for promoting diverse development of industries in Macao.
