Wu Zhengping, director of the Foreign Trade Development Bureau at the Ministry of Commerce, said that the exhibition will connect downstream and upstream industrial chains to create a diversified ecosystem of commerce, consumption, and industry, while promoting the dual circulation development pattern in which domestic and overseas markets reinforce each other with the domestic market as the mainstay.
Su Wei, an exhibitor, noted that the event will showcase the diversified industrial clusters with both Hengqin and Macao characteristics.
Complementing the Macao exhibition, the Hengqin Global Bay Areas Forum will feature discussions on pressing issues like the high-quality living in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, consumption trends, cross-border e-commerce, as well as preferential policies in the Hengqin Cooperation Zone.
Convention and exhibition is one of Hengqin's key industries according to the Overall Development Plan for the Construction of the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, which was released in Sept 2021. Guangdong and Macao have received support to host international high-quality consumption exhibitions and a Global Bay Areas Forum to establish exhibition platforms with global influence.
