The Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin intends allocate 1.92 million yuan ($301,440) toward the employment, entrepreneurship, and training of qualified enterprises and personnel in April, according to a recent notice of the Livelihood Affairs Bureau.
One-off subsidies would be awarded to Hong Kong and Macao people who work or start businesses in Hengqin; employers to provide social insurance for Hong Kong and Macao recruits, micro and small businesses, and enterprises that hire persons with employment difficulties; for employment and job stabilization; and for skill promotion training.

For instance, 15 companies started by Hong Kong and Macao entrepreneurs, including Zhuhai Yice Public Relations Consulting and Yattin Agriculture, will receive up to 30,000 yuan ($4,710). In addition, 17 electricians, care nursing practitioners, and other professionals will be granted 2,000 yuan ($314) for upgrading their professional skills.
To ensure job stabilization and help front-line workers adapt to requirements of high-quality development, Hengqin is also providing financial support from local unemployment insurance funds. In April, 357 talents including public nutritionists and fire facility operators will receive up to 2,000 yuan of training course allowances according to their skill levels.
Eligible enterprises and persons meeting the requirements of related regulations, such as Measures for Employment Subsidies for Entrepreneurs From Hong Kong and Macao to Hengqin New Area and the Guidance List for Application of Zhuhai Employment and Entrepreneurship Subsidies, can submit applications to the Livelihood Affairs Bureau. The subsidies will be granted by the bureau after review and seeking public opinion monthly.
